Never Stop Connecting

CHANGES OF A LIFETIME

How does a man truly define himself? I find that my personal life has started and ended more than twice so far, and I am just building on each to improve myself more. Things that I know about life: learning never ends, we must continue that journey to reach consciousness of self and environment. Children may be the continuation of your name, but they are unique in their own personalities and should never be limited in their knowledge growth. Never stop dreaming and chasing that dream, otherwise you will know nothing but regret and truly die within yourself. Currently I am on my path of Public Relations, I graduate at the end of 2013 and have some great possibilities lined up in front of me, however, that is a path yet to be reached. Would it lead to Law School? Would it lead to a career in Govt. Relations? To lock myself into a solid decision and nothing else would just limit my potential and abilities. I have had some great internships that have given me much perspective; I hope many people get to experience great things as I have. It is never healthy to allow things to bother you or get you down, always live "Carpe Diem" and do not look back and dwell on the past. Reach for more, be more and truly grasp the desires of your heart. Enjoy my blog, I know that I need to post more on here, but I find that I give so much of myself to others I meet, that I forget to reach those that I haven't met yet. I promise I will try to do better...

Recap

Well friends it has been a most interesting and fast past three days. To recap, I definitely know what I would pursue should I decide to not go on into law school. I love the concept of both working in a large corporate environment but primarily would be to work for a large PR firm.

In larger PR firms, you have the freedom and ability to focus and or specialize into one discipline of PR. I really love Entertainment PR and Govt. affairs still. Sports PR does fall under entertainment PR, so I am able to follow my dreams.

Thank you to all the people that made this educational trip possible at UVU and a very special thanks to the presenters from the many companies we met with. Time Warner, Good Housekeeping, Ketchum PR, Hunter PR and all the rest.

What a trip! I love New York City, it is a place I recommend many to see at least once.

Seriously!!!

So yesterday was quite possibly the most incredible day of this trip to NYC. We got to meet with PR professionals from Time Warner, Boutique PR Firm of Fientuch and Good Housekeeping. Learned so much and all of our questions were answered.
I am amazed at all the questions my classmates ask it just proves the level of intensity and passion they have for PR.. We are headed out for another awesome day.. So all I can say is to be continued……

Flying out East

In exactly one week from today, I will have landed for my trip PR in the Big Apple with some fellow classmates and members of UVUPRSSA. I have always wanted to see NYC and especially ground zero. The trip will be so awe inspiring and incredible, we have some awesome leaders in the realm of Public relations that have agreed to meet with us, I know the learning experience will be truly great.. For all those family that know I am not a NY sports team fan (except for the Knicks) dont worry, I got my shots to protect me from cheats, thieves and BS artists no way the Yankees or crappy Jets and Giants will get through that.. Back to the subject I am writing this about, even though the city has had its ups and downs, I am truly blessed to be chosen for this great opportunity. Lined up so far we have around 12 companies and/or execs that we are meeting with, especially excited to walk into the MTV studios.. So stay tuned out there, because I will posting updates and pictures regularly while I am there on this page.

Baseball Season is Finally HERE!!

Oh awesome day when I can catch the Red Sox game via the computer, I should really consider buying the MLB ticket so i can enjoy the true majesty of the game anytime. But to be honest my fellow Sport Fans, I have no time to conciously watch TV anymore in general, this includes favorite shows, but I digress. I am truly happy to be into baseball again, I had a rough time making myself watch after the second strike years ago, now that I watch again, I have the feeling lost when I was a kid again.

To add more great news, my son has started playing baseball, and he has taken an attachment to the sport similar to me when I was his age, I am so happy!!1 I cant wait to toss the ball back and fourth when he comes to visit me this summer.. I am truly thankful for all the great events that happen to me so far..

Patriots v. Jets-Nov. 13

Hello fans, sorry I have been super lax on writing, tons on my plate. Tonight though was a special night, the game was set to place the first team in the AFC East. Rumors were running around about a changing of the guard and the patriots were done. Again the Patriots prove the nah sayers wrong and dominated the field against the Jets.

The game was truly tough fought in the first half, with injuries abound and in the second half most of the Patriots secondary defense was standing in. This did not dissuade the Patriots and they stood strong and they stood fast against the Jets. Three interceptions and numerous sacks for the Jets quarterback Sanchez, helped the high score split and virtually impossible return to the game for the Jets. I am so proud of the game tonight, it was reminiscent of the Patriots of last year and not how they played the last two games.

Emotional Awareness

Great presentation today by professor Howard from CSU-Sacramento. I always knew that an emotional cognitive idea would be necessary. I feel this task is especially hard for men in the field to be more aware of. My only hope is to absorb the concept of Emotional Intelligence and take that forward into my career.
